Role information

Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support provincial programmes for elderly persons and military veterans.
  • Collate, consolidate and submit mainstreaming and programme performance reports.
  • Coordinate relevant provincial forums, structures and stakeholder engagements.
  • Facilitate awareness and capacity-building programmes on the rights and needs of elderly persons and Military veterans.
  • Monitor the implementation of applicable legislation, policies and programmes.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with government departments, municipalities, civil society organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate commemorative events, outreach initiatives and the Annual General Meeting for Older Persons.
  • Provide administrative and technical support within the unit.
  • Maintain accurate programme records and credible supporting evidence.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

All shortlisted candidates, including SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One must be practical exercise, and the other must be an Integrity (ethical conduct) assessment.

Selection panels shall score both technical exercises as an additional criterion in the interview process. Incomplete Z83 and late applications will not be considered.

Communication will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. Successful candidates for the advertised positions will be required to undergo personnel suitability checks, which include criminal records, citizenship, financial checks, qualifications, and previous employment (Reference checks).
