- Render an effective and efficient management information service to the Section Head Prepare presentation for internal utilisation on request of the Section Head.
- Maintain of database a database containing specific information as requested by the Section Head.
- Render basic administration duties for the Section: NIU Operations and Support.
- Manage Iris system relevant to NIU Units.
- Conduct Monitoring and Evaluations at various Units within the Section.
- Attend to Auditor General
- (AG) related matters regarding the national performance indicators.

The forensic DNA profile derived from the sample will be loaded to the Elimination Index of the National Forensic DNA Database. Appointments will be made in terms of the Public Service Act, 1994 (Act No 103 of 1994) as applicable to the post environment.
Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or medical retirement, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded.
